Recycling in an unusual way

I was initially disappointed when this arrived as I expected more projects & less gallery of other 's work. However, I decided that the projects were well described & achievable, & that the work of other artists in this field inspirational & both in one volume a good idea. Not all unwanted books are suitable for passing on to others as I have found ( this includes offering them to family, friends, neighbours, schools, charity shops ,libraries , jumble sales or re-selling them). Now there is a use for them before the re-cycling bin. The items are not all child orientated either & include both practical & decorative objects. This with only basic & readily available tools so no need to go searching around for & hard to get or expensive equipment. Certainly worth the money.!

Inspiring

A very nice-looking book with interesting suggestions and ideas and lovely illustrations. Slightly disappointing from my point of view that there are very few suitable for children which is one of the reasons I wanted it. I was trying to find projects to do with small groups of children of mixed ages, but not sure there are any here. However, I'm sure there are two or three things that would work with older children on a one-to -one basis with an adult. Otherwise it is quite inspiring and a friend has already borrowed my copy and started two of the projects.

Recycling books

Contains twenty-eight projects. My eight-year old daughter has tried one of the easier projects, though some of the others require a little more patience. The artists gallery at the back of the book has already given me a nudge to try out my own sculptures from books. As craft books go, I'm not disappointed with this one.Unfortunately, there are no templates, which means you have to spend a little longer making some of the pieces.
