Interesting but not useful.

The problem with this book is that essentially it isn't a weapons identification guide.I bought the book wanting an "Observer's Guide" to air launched weapons.This book is a narrative history of the development and use of such weapons post-1945. While there is much information valid in itself, the writing style means that individual weapons are spread around different pages, making them more difficult to refer to. The classes of weapons should have been laid out in tables for easy comparison.Another complaint is that the illustrations all are done to different scales, fitted to the page width, so a light anti-tank weapon seems to be the same size as a long-range nuclear missile.To sum up, if you are looking for a history of modern air weapons, this is an excellent book, but it is near-useless as a guide book. I shall be returning it for a refund.
