If you already know or have already read tales of the Norse gods, then this will give a whole different view on them.This book is written as if Loki the Trickster is telling you his life story, it gives his views on occurrences and how he viewed things.It's so well written that it will make you think that he wasn't the bad guy that other books make you think, and will make you question how great and good the gods really were. Obviously Loki plays the victim in this book and justifies his actions to make him look good, but you are able to relate to this as it's a natural psychological action that everyone does.If there were books like this for each individual god and goddess, I would definitely read them all

I loved this novel because it was an enjoyable and gripping read that made me see why these stories have be retold and enjoyed across the centuries. Reading this I wanted to get my kindle out at breakfast and any spare opportunity. Having read Neil Gaiman's rather more 'straight' retelling of the norse myths recently, I knew the stories but wasn't particularly gripped. This version, retold in modern, accessible language, was easier to read and more fun for me. I am now reading 'Runemarks' and that's also great.

Loved Runemarks and Runelight so this was natural next option when it came out. Has a similar feel but being first person from Loki it has a lovely, unbridled honesty, humour and vulnerability to it. So far anyway, I'm only about a quarter of the way through...
